Why are my piranhas scared of light?

I have 4 red bellied piranhas and there about 4 inches and whenever i turn on the light they go crazy. so i turned the light off and they werent scared anymore. And i left the light off for like 6 days and turned the light back on and they were scared again what sould i do?
