What type of fish should I get?

I want to get a fish tank in my room, about 30-60 gallons. I also want some cool fish, so far ive considered a few red bellied piranhas, an arowana, or maybe just some oscars. Something exotic, and unusual, but not to pricey and hard to take care of. Please tell me if you know of anything...
