What's the right tank size for piranhas?

I am planning on getting 3 or 4 1" red bellied piranhas. I was wondering how many gallons is needed for that size and when they get larger. I heard it's 29 gallons for every adult piranha but I've seen videos where thats probably not the case. Also what is the growth rate for red bellied piranhas.
