Christians, why did Jehovah create a predator vs prey system?

God allows evil to exist. He has to. We all must have the agency to choose what we will do with our lives. Everything has a purpose. We may not understand what the purposes are, but everything has a purpose. We will all die. Is how we die really all that important? Would it be better if everything died a slow and painful death through cancer or a slow painful experience of our body losing all function? How do you propose things should die?
